Low Pressure Plasma Spray (LPPS or VPS)

PAS Technologies LPPS system or Vacuum Plasma Sprayed (VPS) protective coatings are effectively the same and are used to protect the parent material during GT operation from the hot oxidising and corrosive environments they operate in. These type of coatings are referred to as 'overlay' coatings and are made up of the following elements CoNiCrAlY or derivations of these alloys. LPPS coatings produce clean, dense, low oxide level (<1%), high bond strength coatings that are used mostly on primary stages of HGP turbine components. The spray equipment is operated to ISO9002 and NADCAP standards.

PAS Technologies LPPS system is an Electro-Plasma two sting unit, the vacuum system is provided using Stokes equipment and gun-part manipulation is controlled using an Allen Bradley CNC control system. The power output of the 03-CP plasma gun is 120Kw. The system is available for 24 hour/ 5 day operation.
